How to Grant cPanel Access as a Reseller or Server Admin
Accessing cPanel can be done using a unique login URL, along with a username and password. If you're the owner of a Reseller, Cloud, or Dedicated hosting plan, you can share access to an existing cPanel account with your users by following the steps below.
Note: If you haven’t yet created a cPanel account, follow the steps in this article before proceeding.
- Step 1: Get the cPanel Login URL
- Step 2: Find the cPanel Username in WHM
- Step 3: Share the Login Credentials
Step 1: Get the cPanel Login URL
Your users can access cPanel using either of the following:
Note: If the domain isn't pointed correctly or doesn't have an SSL certificate, the domain-based link may not work. In that case, use the server IP instead.
Step 2: Find the cPanel Username in WHM
- Log in to WHM.
- Click on List Accounts.
- Look up the domain name in the list. The cPanel username appears in the corresponding row.
Step 3: Share the Login Credentials
Once you've located the login URL and username, share the following with your user:
- The cPanel login link
- The cPanel username
- The account password
Make sure to share this information securely and avoid using unencrypted channels like plain-text email. If you're unsure of the password or need to change it, you can reset it from WHM under List Accounts > Change Password.
Tip: Make sure the user’s package includes cPanel access. You can verify this from WHM under Edit a Package.
