How to Transfer Services and/or Domains From One Client to Another

In this article, we’ll walk you through the steps to move a domain or hosting plan from one WHC account to another—whether it's for a client, a team member, or someone else. You can do it directly from your Client Area, without needing to submit a support ticket.

How to transfer a domain or service 

  1. Log in to your Client Area
  2. Navigate to Hosting & Websites

  3. Click Manage on your desired service (e.g. WEB HOSTING PRO - ilovewhc.ca)
  4. Click on the gear icon, then click Transfer Ownership

  5. Use the checkboxes to select the hosting plans, domains or products you want to transfer

    Note: Only active services and domains with no more than 10 days of expiration are eligible for transfer.
  6. After making your selection/s, click Begin Ownership Transfer
  7. You’ll then be prompted with a security check, click on Send code to receive an email with a verification link. Click it within the hour to confirm you wish to proceed with the transfer.

  8. Enter the verification code, then click Submit

  9. Enter the name and email address of the person you wish to transfer your service to

  10. Once confirmed, click Submit Request Now to initiate the transfer
  11. The recipient will receive an email with a unique, secure link to review and accept the transfer. If they’re not yet a client, they’ll be able to quickly create an account.
    Note: The recipient will have 48 hours to accept the transfer. If they do not respond in time, please re-submit the transfer request.
  12. Once accepted, the transfer is instantly complete, and both parties will receive confirmation emails.
