How to Cancel a Domain Transfer
Introduction
Domain transfers can sometimes be complex, and there are situations where you might need to cancel the process. This guide will explain how to cancel a domain transfer, ensuring you understand the steps involved and how to follow up effectively.
Understanding Domain Transfers
When transferring a domain, three key steps are required:
- Requesting the release from your current host.
- Obtaining or providing the EPP code.
- Ensuring the transfer occurs at least 60 days after the domain's initial registration, or any contact changes were made.
Checking Transfer Status
You can monitor the status of your domain transfer directly from your Client Area. Simply go to the domain section and select "Domain Transfers" to view the current status. You can either input your EPP code during the purchase process or after ordering through this interface.
Cancelling the Transfer
If, for any reason, you would like to cancel the domain transfer, you must act before the transfer is completed. To initiate the cancellation, open a ticket from your Client Area, select the Billing department, and request the cancellation. Remember, cancellation is only possible if the transfer has not yet occurred.
Confirmation and Follow-Up
Once you’ve submitted your cancellation request, our Billing agents will process it and notify you when the transfer is cancelled and the refund is issued. You can follow up on the ticket for updates or reach out directly by calling us at 1.514.504.2113 for further assistance.
