What are the conditions for the Site Transfer service?
Web Hosting Canada offers free site transfers from compatible service providers, with the purchase of most hosting services.
In order to qualify for the free site transfer service, please make sure that:
- you have working access to your existing hosting provider's control panel, or otherwise have a complete archive of their website (files + email)
- you've requested the site transfer service within 30 days of a new activation of a new hosting, reseller, Cloud or Dedicated service
- you are transferring a website from a compatible service provider (we cannot transfer websites from providers using proprietary site builders such as Wix and Squarespace)
Each service type allows for a limited number of free site transfers, as described here:

1 site is defined as either:
- 1 cPanel account allowing for the creation of a full backup and weighing less than 10GB, or
- 1 website which can include a maximum of 10GB of files and up to 3 MySQL databases.
