Error "Object Status Prohibits Operation"
If you get an error Object Status Prohibits Operation when changing the DNS of your .CA domain name, it's likely that your domain is locked.
To unlock your domain and enable DNS changes:
- Log in to your Client Area
- Click on Domains, then My Domains
- If you have multiple domains, click on the domain you wish to manage
- Under Domain Settings, click the toggle next to Registrar Lock to disable the lock
- Make your nameserver changes (or any other operation on your domain)
- (Optional) Re-enable Registrar Lock to secure your domain once again
To unlock your domain and enable DNS changes (in the old client area):
- Log in to your Client Area
- Click on Domains, then My Domains
- If you have multiple domains, click on the domain you wish to manage
- Click on Registrar Lock (from the left side menu)
- Click Disable Registrar Lock
- Make your nameserver changes (or any other operation on your domain)
- (Optional) Re-enable Registrar Lock to secure your domain once again
