Help, I Can't Connect to the cPanel!

If you're having trouble accessing cPanel, don’t worry. Here are some common reasons why it might be happening, along with easy solutions to fix it.

Situation 1: You can access the login screen, but login credentials are not accepted

  • Incorrect login credentials: Ensure that your username and password are correct. If you copied and pasted them from an email, double-check that there are no extra spaces before or after the credentials. You can find your cPanel username and password in the welcome email sent to your registered email address. If needed, follow this guide on how to reset your cPanel password.

  • DNS Propagation delay: If you recently transferred your domain to us or updated the DNS records, make sure your domain points to our servers. DNS changes can take up to 24 hours to fully propagate. If propagation isn't complete, you may be connecting to the wrong server. You can check your domain's DNS records (e.g., A, MX, NS) by adding your domain to this link.

  • Firewall Block: If you’ve made multiple failed login attempts, our security systems may block your access. If this happens, please refer to this guide for assistance.

Situation 2: You can’t access the login screen and see an error page

  • Check the URL: Ensure you're using the correct cPanel URL. If your domain is not working, use the direct URL provided in your account Welcome email (e.g., http://username.whc.ca/cpanel). Alternatively, you can access cPanel through the Client Area.

  • Network or Browser Restrictions: Your network might be blocking secure websites.

    • Try accessing cPanel via a non-secure link: http://cpanel.yourdomain.com (replace "yourdomain.com" with the actual domain name of the cPanel you wish to access).

    • If that doesn't work, disable your firewall or antivirus temporarily. If you're behind a corporate firewall, contact your network administrator.

    • Also, clear your browser and network cache, reboot your system and router, and try again. For reference, you can check these articles on how to clear network cash and clear browser cache and cookies.

Situation 3: cPanel URL or your website or both are not loading

If you're experiencing issues accessing cPanel or your website is not loading, it’s possible that our firewall is blocking your IP due to multiple failed connection attempts or insecure scripts.

To resolve this, please follow our guide on How to Unblock Yourself from Our Firewall.
