Configure your Domain with Managed WordPress Hosting

Note: this article only applies to Managed WordPress Hosting.

Before you can start using WordPress with your domain name, you’ll want to connect the two together.

Warning: If you have not already done so, register your domain name.

Connect your domain name using WHC’s WordPress nameservers

Warning: If you receive emails on your domain but have not ordered the Email addon for your WordPress service, don’t use this method as you may stop receiving emails.

Set your domain name’s nameservers to:

ns1.wpdns.ca
ns2.wpdns.ca

Please wait up to 24 hours for your changes to take effect.

Connect your domain name using the IP address

  1. Locate the IP address of your WordPress website, as shown in your Client Area WordPress details page

  2. Set your domain’s A Record to that IP address. For example, if your domain is yourdomain.com and your IP address is 199.199.199.199, your A Record will look like:

    yourdomain.com IN A 199.199.199.199

  3. If your zone doesn't already contain a www CNAME, you also need to add the following record:

    www.yourdomain.com IN A 199.199.199.199
